Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician to join our team at Nova Chemicals in Joffre, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, inspect, assemble, and test relief valves
  • Service, inspect, assemble, and test isolation and control valves
  • Troubleshoot, teardown, and rebuild industrial valves

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter with valve experience
  • Valid driver's license with a 3-year driver's abstract
  • Required Safety Tickets: CSTS-2020, Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection, Confined Space, EWP (considered an asset)
  • Pre-access Drug and Alcohol test

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights, in and around noise, dust, indoor and outdoor in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in a confined space
  • Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be clean shaven
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
