Senior Rail Infrastructure Project Director

Moving2Canada, a leading job search platform for professionals transitioning to Canada, is seeking an exceptional Senior Rail Infrastructure Project Director to join our client's Major Projects team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex rail projects across Canada, focusing on Vancouver BC, Toronto ON, and Calgary AB.
As a key member of the pursuit team, you will play a crucial role in securing major project awards and driving the operational and financial performance of these projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring safe and profitable execution of signalization and rail electrification construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with stakeholders to develop, design, construct, and maintain major railway schemes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement project execution plans, schedules, and budgets, aligning with company objectives and strategic goals.
- Provide technical guidance on rail operations, contract management, and standards to ensure project success.
- Effectively resolve disputes with clients, partners, subcontractors, and public entities, maintaining positive relationships and minimizing project risks.
- Report on financial performance, workload status, legal issues, and opportunities to senior management and project executives.
- Establish and manage a high-performing project team, clearly defining responsibilities and expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience and training.
- A minimum of 5 years of construction experience, with a strong background in rail-related projects.
- Expertise in Electrification and Plant (E&P) discipline, including Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), 25kV Power Distribution, and Low Voltage Electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate employees and field resources, deploying them effectively across projects of varying complexity.
- Proven track record in establishing effective project controls, tracking productivity, and adhering to estimates and bids.
- Project Management expertise on complex Joint Venture or Private Public Partnership style projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with public officials, Board of Directors, subordinates, peers, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to use sound business judgment and proven leadership for people at all levels.
