Food Preparation Specialist

We are seeking a Food Preparation Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our patient services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high-quality preparation and presentation of food for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of fresh-to-order room service menu items for patients, clients, and customers in a fast-paced line cooking environment.
- Maintaining accurate control of recipes, including measuring and portioning ingredients, and producing food items according to established standards.
- Frequent physical demands including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing food supplies throughout the shift.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- One year of related experience in food preparation or a related field.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact with patients and colleagues in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Competency in multiple languages is an asset, with French being preferred.

Hours and Compensation:This is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours biweekly. The hourly wage for this role is $21.60 - $24.00 per hour. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
