About the Role

Nexus Systems Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Architect Senior Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Data Analytics team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS data pipelines, databases, and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Data Pipeline Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Python Scripts.
  2. ETL Process Implementation: Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse (Amazon RedShift).
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  4. Data Modeling and Schema Development: Build and maintain data models and schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval.
  5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure smooth data flow and minimal downtime.
  6. Python Scripting and Automation: Utilize Python programming for scripting, automation, and data manipulation tasks.
  7. Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated with the latest AWS services, data engineering best practices, and emerging technologies.
  8. Business Requirements and Systems Goals: Meet with Data Architects and Project Leads to understand business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  9. Complex Data Transformations: Load target databases using complex transformations that come from many systems.
  10. Issue Resolution: Monitor loads and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Requirements
  1. Relevant Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  2. AWS Technologies: 4+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on AWS technologies (S3, AWS Glue, Lambda, Athena) and developing ETL/ELT pipelines using these AWS services.
  3. AWS Managed Apache Airflow: 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS managed Apache Airflow / Apache Airflow.
  4. Cost-Effective Data Solutions: 4+ years of proficiency in establishing cost-effective data-centered solutions in AWS.
  5. SQL Proficiency: Proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and optimization.
  6. SAP S/4 Experience: Familiarity with consuming data from SAP S/4 entities, models, and schemas.
  7. Data Integration and ETL: Understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  8. Problem-Solving and Teamwork: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Data Programming Languages: Development experience using data programming languages such as Python, Pyspark.
  2. Database Technologies: Development with database technologies and experience with data warehousing methodologies and technologies.
  3. Data Lakehouse and Delta Lakehouse: Experience with Data Lakehouse and Delta Lakehouse.
  4. Real-Time Data Processing: Experience with real-time data processing and stream processing frameworks.
  5. BI Tools: Understanding of BI tools such as Power BI and QuickSight.
  6. Amazon RedShift: Hands-on experience with Amazon RedShift or similar data warehousing solutions.
  7. Python Programming: Strong programming skills in Python for scripting and automation.
  8. Data Integration and ETL: Understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  9. AWS Certifications: Good to have AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty).
