We are seeking an experienced Sfisheries Biologist to join our team in Slave Lake, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing fisheries programs in the region, including species and population assessments, habitat management, and species at risk conservation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing tactical work plans for fish population and habitat management, as well as species at risk conservation and recovery.
  • Applying sound scientific knowledge and resource management skills to inform cumulative effects assessment and management.
  • Supporting integrated resource management programs at district and regional levels.
  • Participating in provincial, regional, and subregional environmental and natural resource plans.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree in a related field and a minimum of 6 years of related experience in areas such as fisheries and land use management.

The salary range for this position is $78,808 - $102,073 per year, and the regular hours of work are 36.25 hours per week. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities for professional development and growth within the ministry.
