Job Title: Grocery Store Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grocery Store Supervisor to join our team at Indian Grocers Burlington. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grocery department, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure efficient workflow
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to meet business needs
  • Authorize payments by cheque and manage cash handling procedures
  • Order merchandise and maintain inventory levels
  • Establish work schedules and ensure adequate staffing
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, including cashiers and grocery clerks
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages

Requirements:

  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a retail or grocery environment
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check
