We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to join our team at Symbiotic Group. As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure architectures for our clients' hybrid multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a high-level assessment of existing security operations platforms and posture.
  • Identify areas for optimization, especially around how SIEM, SOAR, and XDR services are used.
  • Provide a 3–5-year roadmap, including:
    • Identifying changing security needs from the landscape.
    • Identifying security operations automation opportunities.
    • Addressing operational and security log sources and retention.
    • Providing a strategy to achieve the desired end-state, including cloud tenant monitoring.
  • Forecast capacity requirements on prem and in cloud.
  • Work with security and operations teams to build the functional and non-functional requirements for security monitoring to properly detect and respond to cyber threats on-prem and in cloud.
  • Cloud IaaS/PaaS security architecture and security monitoring posture and practice alignment to on-prem functions.
  • Build out a reference architecture.
  • Build RFP for MSSP and SIEM or their replacements:
    • SOAR capabilities.
    • Operational log retention.
    • Forecast MSSP capacity requirements.
    • Platform selection criteria.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (IT, IS, or business administration with IT focus) or equivalent experience/certifications and 10 years progressive IT experience.
  • 7-10 years' experience directly with security architecture; on-prem, Hybrid, Cloud and Hybrid Multi cloud environments.
  • Able to optimize on-prem and multi-cloud security for both effectiveness and cost.
  • Familiar with current trends in security, especially around Cloud, SIEM, XDR, and managed security services.
  • Experience writing RFPs is an asset.
  • Experience with protecting highly sensitive information, such as patient data.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and training skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite & SharePoint.
  • Experience delivering automation solutions combined with business process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with and presenting to upper management and senior executives.
  • Experience with operation and use of security tools, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Endpoint Protection.
  • TOGAF certification is an asset.
  • GIAC, CISSP, CISA, and/or CISM or other cybersecurity designations are an asset.
  • Thorough familiarity with OWASP or CSSLP/CASS certification.
Accountabilities/Tasks and Duties:
  • Develop an understanding of the client's current state Security Architecture.
  • Develop an understanding of the client's current product stack.
  • Develop a desired future state for the Security Architecture and Product Stack.
  • Perform a minigap analysis between current and future state.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize product utilization in terms of function and capacity.
  • Develop a roadmap to attain the future state.
  • Develop a high-level security strategy with recommendations on move to future technologies, including durations and costs.
  • Develop a cloud security architecture for operations, taking into consideration how a hybrid posture will work in conjunction with the technology stack to protect, detect, and respond.
  • Develop supporting materials for the client Security team.
