Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and physically capable individual to assist our mechanics with equipment handling and maintenance tasks. As an Automotive Equipment Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop.
Key Responsibilities- Assist mechanics with equipment handling and maintenance tasks
- Move tools, equipment, and other materials as required
- Hold stakes during surveying activities
- Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public
- Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
- Physically demanding work environment
- Large workload with multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability and punctuality
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities
- Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities
- Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
- Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
- Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans
- Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
- Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination
- Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers
- Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities
- Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities
