Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work with the Maintenance team and be responsible for providing mechanical support and expertise to all areas of underground and surface operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of mining equipment
  • Work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
  • FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, utilize shop and assembly manuals, and adhere to health and safety standards
  • Repairing surface and underground mechanical equipment in a timely manner
  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
  • Responsible for overhaul, maintenance, service, and reconditioning of mining equipment
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work
  • Give direction and training to mechanics as needed
Requirements:
  • Interprovincial Heavy Duty trade certification (Technical mechanical diploma considered)
  • Minimum two-three years' experience in heavy-duty equipment
  • Alimak experience an asset
