This is a seasonal opportunity to join the team at Sheridan Nurseries Limited as a Nursery Labourer. As a key member of our floriculture production team, you will be responsible for assisting with the care and maintenance of our crops, including cleaning, pruning, and harvesting.

Work Environment

Our nursery is located in a rural area and operates outdoors, with a focus on floriculture production. As a Nursery Labourer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the greenhouse and surrounding areas
  • Assist with the harvesting and pruning of crops
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens
  • Apply the technique of hoeing between rows
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
  • Perform other tasks as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a variety of weather conditions.
