Occupational Therapist Opportunity at Lifemark

Lifemark is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Surrey, BC. As a concussion-trained therapist, you will work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to provide exceptional care to our clients.

If you have a passion for helping clients achieve meaningful and productive activity, and are interested in working with special populations such as Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services, Hand Therapy, or Cognitive Rehabilitation, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess client's physical, mental health, and/or cognitive functioning in a clinic or community setting.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on analysis and clinical reasoning.
  • Educate clients on topics such as safe body mechanics, cognitive behavioral strategies, and functional tolerance activities.
  • Support return-to-work programs, including job coaching and accommodation recommendations.
  • Utilize e-charting software to document treatment sessions and submit reports to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Participate in case conferences and case management.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team at your clinic.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy students (as preferred).
  • Network with stakeholders to promote Lifemark OT programs.
  • Manage a caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Registration (member in good standing) with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in treating concussion/traumatic brain injury is preferred.
  • Ability to be autonomous, working both independently and as part of the team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to post-graduate professional development.
  • Previous experience supporting auto insurance, long-term disability, and WSIB referrals is a strong asset.
  • Certification in Concussion or Vestibular Therapy is considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
