Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on swing routes.
Key Responsibilities- Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, noting all issues on the DVIR form.
- Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Work with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
- Perform all duties as scheduled, assisting other company drivers as directed.
- Notify the Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
- Position containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
- Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher with an air-brake endorsement.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN.
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Acceptable driving record required.
Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a vehicle.
