We are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Entuitive. This role involves working on small and medium projects, assisting in maintaining a high level of service for the structural practice, and growing our Special Projects team in Ottawa.

The Role

This position will work closely with the business development team and Entuitive's other special projects teams to ensure consistent, consolidated, and leading-edge service across the firm. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering special projects work, including client meetings, budget development, review of existing structures, assessments, and detailed structural designs.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver special projects work, including:
  • Attendance at client meetings from initial conception throughout the entire project
  • Development of internal project budgets and generation of fee proposals
  • Review of existing structures to determine as-built construction details
  • Assessments of existing structure for changes and additions and to assess for upgrades or restoration requirements
  • Work with architects and other consultants to prepare detailed structural designs
  • Work with Entuitive technologists to develop drawings for permit, tender and construction
  • Review of in progress works on construction sites for compliance to issued documents
  • Attendance at construction progress meetings to provide consultation and updates to the project team
  • Write reports based on observations, assessments, and key findings
  • Coordinate and review of submittals and shop drawings during construction phase
Pursue special projects growth opportunities by:
  • Attracting new clients through business development initiatives; grow the special project business and win work
  • Attend client meetings, events, and business development opportunities to grow your network
  • With the guidance of the Entuitive business development, marketing and proposal teams, research and respond to proposal requests from clients
