Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team at JobCart Inc. as a Food Industry Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing planned maintenance, addressing break-in work, and troubleshooting industrial and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all site and department safe practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Utilize technical skills to execute planned maintenance and address break-in work, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial and mechanical equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, ensuring regular inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Actively participate in the planning process to ensure that the right work is being completed at the right time by the right resources.
  • Execute work as scheduled by planners, including PMs, inspections, rounds, and other maintenance activities.
  • Ensure documentation of maintenance work occurs according to Maintenance Best Practices, including prep for history, work complete, critique, failure analysis, and other relevant documentation.
  • Document all maintenance work, including scheduled work and break-in work, in the shift logbook system and work order system.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance tools to execute jobs effectively, ensuring accurate and efficient maintenance activities.
  • Be involved in root cause analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting in your area of responsibility, working collaboratively with other technical and operational resources.
  • Complete shift assessment to understand overall process health, documenting findings and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Must be willing to work any shift, including night shift, and be flexible with scheduling.
  • 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright License is required.
  • Previous completion of an apprenticeship is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and other technical documents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety policies and procedures, including CSA codes and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple priorities, requiring high attention to detail and precision.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in food manufacturing, with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Understanding of electrical circuitry, including building wiring and CSA codes.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, maintenance shop machinery, and electronics.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrician license requirements and local electrician experience in Canada from within a food plant manufacturing environment.
