Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Rakerman to join our team at Linxus Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the precise raking and spreading of hot asphalt to achieve accurate grades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rake and spread asphalt mixes to achieve accurate grades, ensuring seamless asphalt seams and clean edges.
  • Ensure precise joint matching with existing asphalt surfaces.
  • Tamp and smooth joints, gutters, and connections to facilitate proper adhesion of asphalt mixtures to existing surfaces.
  • Address any defects, including honeycombs, after tamping or rolling asphalt surfaces.
  • Adhere strictly to our company's safety program, including active participation in safety meetings.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in asphalt raking.
  • Own transportation and CSA-approved steel-toed work boots.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as required.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 20 lbs or more.
  • Safety certifications are an asset.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Must be available to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, during the work season.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat, up to and exceeding 64 Celsius.
  • Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
  • Able to sit for long periods and look over shoulder.
  • Able to climb up and down from equipment.
