We are a dynamic and innovative grocery store seeking an experienced Meat Cutter and Specialist to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, combined with excellent cutting skills and knowledge of various meats.
Job SummaryThis permanent role involves working in a fast-paced supermarket environment where you will be responsible for preparing and cutting high-quality meats for sale to customers. The ideal candidate will be skilled in handling and processing different types of meat products, including poultry, beef, pork, and seafood.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and prepare raw meat for processing or cutting, ensuring all necessary health and safety procedures are followed.
- Prepare custom cuts of meat ordered by customers to their specifications.
- Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat according to company guidelines.
- Wrap and package prepared meats efficiently and effectively.
- Remove bones from meat products as required.
- Weigh and price meat products accurately to meet sales targets.
- Cut poultry into various parts for sale to customers.
- Price and display meat products in a visually appealing manner.
- Train junior meat cutters on best practices and procedures.
- Participate in the preparation of special displays of meats, poultry, and seafood products.
- High school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety and handling procedures is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
- The job will take place in a cold/refrigerated environment, requiring the ability to work in a cool temperature range.
- Exposure to odours is a possible aspect of this role.
A competitive salary of $38,500 per year (approximately $18.50 per hour) is offered for this full-time position, based on experience and qualifications.
