Job Title: Retail Store Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Store Manager to join our team at MATTRESS PLANET. As a Retail Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store is running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign sales workers to duties and oversee their performance
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to provide excellent customer service
  • Authorize payments by cheque and manage the store's finances
  • Order merchandise and manage inventory levels to ensure that we have the right products in stock
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that the store is staffed appropriately
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure that the store is running smoothly
  • Conduct performance reviews to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to staff
  • Perform opening and closing activities to ensure that the store is secure and ready for business

Requirements:

  • College/CEGEP education
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail management role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly
  • Reliability and flexibility
