Agricultural Consultant

Job Description

This role involves monitoring crop yields and advising on planting and harvest schedules to ensure targets are met. The position reports to the Plant Manager and supervises the Crop Supervisor and seasonal field technicians.

  • Contact seed vendors to evaluate seed performance
  • Visit growers for contracting acres and follow up on growing conditions throughout the year
  • Ensure grower records are entered on the database
  • Harvest crops
  • Stay in touch with the plant continuously to ensure awareness of expected quality
  • Assist with pretests and attend daily production meetings to set priorities
  • Consult with growers on crop maintenance and optimization
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary education with a focus in agriculture
  • Certification or completion of a CCA program (considered an asset)
  • Proficient spoken and written English
  • Proficiency in Excel and G Suite
