Job Summary

CIMT College is seeking instructors to supervise PSW placements at our clinical facility in Cambridge. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The successful candidate will be required to adhere to CIMT College's policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Display a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field
  • Deliver curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials and guidelines
  • Exhibit sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment
  • Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude
  • Maintain accurate attendance records
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation
  • Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information
  • Stay current in the subject matter through professional development
  • Exhibit an attitude of teamwork and problem-solving
  • Perform other related duties as required
Required Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to present information in a way that students will understand and adapt to different learning styles
  • Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model
  • Ability to commute in the GTA, as per the schedule assigned
Qualifications
  • Must be a Personal Support Worker with a PSW certificate from NACC, post 2015
  • Must present with a minimum of three (3) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care/hospital/community/chronic care setting
  • Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005
