Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations, collaborating with pharmacists to accurately dispense medications, and preparing non-sterile topical compounds. Strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and attention to detail are essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing Medications:
    • Work closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate medication dispensing, adhering to regulatory requirements and company protocols.
    • Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies efficiently.
  • Non-Sterile Topical Compounding:
    • Prepare non-sterile topical compounds under pharmacist supervision, following established formulas and procedures meticulously.
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the compounding area.
    • Adhere strictly to safety protocols during compounding tasks.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:
    • Maintain precise records of compounded medications and dispensation activities.
    • Document any deviations or incidents as per company procedures.
    • Stay updated on compounding guidelines and regulations.
  • Customer Service:
    • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Address inquiries and concerns regarding medications and compounded products promptly.
    • Foster a positive and welcoming environment in the dispensary area.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Participate in quality control measures to ensure the safety and efficacy of compounded products.
    • Conduct routine inspections and checks to maintain ingredient and equipment integrity.
    • Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in a pharmacy or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification or coursework in pharmacy technology or pharmaceutical sciences preferred.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and compounding standards.
  • Proficient mathematical skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Competent in basic computer applications.
  • Willingness to adhere to rigorous safety and cleanliness protocols.

Salary Range:$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
