Cardiac Sonographer

As a cardiac sonographer at Nova Scotia Health, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. You will work with state-of-the-art technology, including Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, to perform Echo ultrasound examinations and assess patients' conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Echo ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental standards and techniques
- Work alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions
- Use non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in diagnosis and treatment
- Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
- Sonography Canada certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
Nova Scotia Health offers a competitive hourly rate of $34.24 - $39.96, as well as a market adjustment of approximately $369.23 biweekly. Eligible candidates may also receive a signing bonus of up to $10,000 and relocation assistance of up to $5,000 with a defined Return of Service contract.
Work EnvironmentThis is a long-assignment full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly, with approximately 18 months of duration. Shift work, including evenings and weekends, is required, with occasional travel to other sites.
