Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, processing medication orders, and maintaining stock levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process medication orders, ensuring clinical review and approval by a Pharmacist
  • Receive and verify verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners
  • Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions
  • Verify order entries and perform final checks on dispensed prescriptions
  • Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence and transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies
  • Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system
  • Maintain stock levels and perform clerical duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to keyboard
  • Ability to organize work
