Job Title: Technician, Injection

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technician, Injection to join our team at Southwire Company, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in the rejuvenation of medium to high voltage unground power cables using our patented technologies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations, and neutral corrosion.
  • Place and operate cable injection equipment on various sizes of de-energized cables apparatuses.
  • Perform air flow tests.
  • Perform Southwire patented rejuvenation methodologies in accordance with NRIs.
  • Data entry, job planning, hazard avoidance, and coordinate injection and digging activities.
  • Enhance and advance a culture of zero incident safety culture and behavior.
  • Maintain rolling stock and equipment.
  • Select Injection Adapters and cable accessories.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Minimum education level, associates preferred.

Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:

  • Commercial Drivers License.
  • Ability to read a circuit map, strong mechanical skills, basic construction skills.
  • Passport and ability to travel to Canada/United States of America.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record.
  • Intermediate computer skills with entry-level proficiency with/in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, internet/web).

Working Conditions:

  • Able and willing to travel on a regular basis.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 ft.
  • Able to stand, kneel, and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to fit into a confined space rescue harness.
  • Must conduct digging operations as required.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent exposure to seasonal elements.
  • Conditions may vary based on assignment.
