Job Description
The Nursing Resource Team (NRT) is a group of skilled nurses who work in various clinical areas, responding to short-term absences or changes in acuity or volume. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to be trained in specialty areas such as ICU, ED, and Post-partum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to provide direct patient care in various clinical areas.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on specific components.
- Care for patients with varying levels of complexity, including those with acute medical conditions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and procedures according to established policies and guidelines.
- Document observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- A BCLS Certification at time of hire.
- Recent nursing experience in acute medicine is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- A caring attitude with patients, families, and co-workers.
- The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong physical assessment skills are required.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuing education.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
