About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Team Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our care team, you will provide direct, hands-on care to patients based on their needs and program/unit requirements.

Your primary responsibilities will include supporting patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living, as well as reinforcing patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program certification with the Department of Health and Wellness
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Effective listening and communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

As a Care Team Assistant, you will work under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals and be responsible for providing high-quality patient care. Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $23.71 - $25.70, and successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
