Job Description

This is a key opportunity for a skilled Automation Engineer to contribute to the development of optics infrastructure at High Tech Genesis Inc. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation scripts in Python to optimize workflows and ensure efficient operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Automation Development: Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for optics infrastructure features, including writing automation for new or missing features and enhancing existing code.
  2. Lab Work: Perform lab tasks such as inserting, swapping, and connecting optics within the same chassis, engage in manual testing of optics, and recover devices from bad states requiring physical intervention.
  3. Execution and Analysis of Automation: Execute automation on various local and remote systems, analyze results, and ensure proper functionality, debug and triage suspected software issues, and fix automation bugs discovered during execution.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Engage with internal teams to ensure synchronization and proper execution schedules, participate in regular forums for sharing automation progress, results, and feedback.
Requirements:
  • Strong Proficiency in Python Programming
  • Familiarity with automation development and test scripting
  • Experience with networking or telecom systems is an advantage but not required
  • Previous experience with optics infrastructure is a plus but not necessary
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies
