The Port of Montreal is seeking a highly skilled Director of Communications to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our organization.

The Director of Communications will be responsible for managing a team of communications professionals, developing and implementing communications plans, and providing strategic advice to senior leaders. This role will also involve managing media relations, crisis communications, and public affairs, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communications strategies to engage stakeholders, promote the brand, and maintain a positive reputation.
  • Manage a team of communications professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement communications plans, including media relations, crisis communications, and public affairs.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders on communications matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, community groups, and government agencies.
  • Manage media relations, including developing key messages, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating media events.
  • Develop and implement crisis communications plans, including responding to crises and managing media relations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups and government agencies.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, providing regular reports to senior leaders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Communications or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team of communications professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
