Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled labourer with advanced first aid certification to join our team at Abstract Developments. As a labourer with OFA3/Advanced First Aid, you will work on multifamily residential projects in the Greater Victoria/Langford area, collaborating closely with the Site Foreman and Site Superintendent to complete a wide range of construction-related tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid services on site, including responding to emergencies and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Unload and load construction materials, and move them to designated areas
  • Report to site Foreman and Superintendent for tasks and concerns
  • Tend equipment such as compressors or pumps
  • Operate gas-powered compactors, cut-off saws, and generators
  • Operate power tools, including chop, table, and circular saws, air nailers, and hammer drills
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovels and rakes
  • Remove construction waste and debris using shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a skilled labourer
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • OFA Level 3/Advanced First Aid certification is a requirement
  • Telehandler certification would be an asset
  • Skidsteer experience would be an asset
