We are seeking a skilled labourer with advanced first aid certification to join our team at Abstract Developments. As a labourer with OFA3/Advanced First Aid, you will work on multifamily residential projects in the Greater Victoria/Langford area, collaborating closely with the Site Foreman and Site Superintendent to complete a wide range of construction-related tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide first aid services on site, including responding to emergencies and maintaining a safe working environment
- Unload and load construction materials, and move them to designated areas
- Report to site Foreman and Superintendent for tasks and concerns
- Tend equipment such as compressors or pumps
- Operate gas-powered compactors, cut-off saws, and generators
- Operate power tools, including chop, table, and circular saws, air nailers, and hammer drills
- Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovels and rakes
- Remove construction waste and debris using shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites
- Proven experience as a skilled labourer
- Able to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, with knowledge of English (spoken and written)
- Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OFA Level 3/Advanced First Aid certification is a requirement
- Telehandler certification would be an asset
- Skidsteer experience would be an asset
