Job Title: Senior Estimator - Commercial and Institutional Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and relevant documentation to produce accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in pre-bid meetings to gather essential project information.
  • Identify and assess potential risks, formulating strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain and update a cost information database and historical data for reference.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Prepare and present detailed estimate reports to management and clients.
Requirements:
  • A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the commercial or institutional construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of ICI project specifications and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret project plans and specifications accurately.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Experience conducting site visits and participating in pre-bid meetings.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
