We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Nutri Group's Countryside Farms plant in Steinbach, Manitoba.

The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing supplies and packaging, negotiating with vendors, and collaborating with partners to identify opportunities for consolidating spend. Key responsibilities also include customer service and support.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Communicate regularly with the Director of Operations, Materials Manager, and supervisors of other departments, as well as with the sales and customer service department
  2. Identify opportunities to achieve savings via consolidating spend with other business units and partners
  3. Monitor inventory levels and project minimum/maximum requirements
  4. Work within the SAP environment for all transactions
  5. Create purchase orders, and verify the accuracy of shipment documents
  6. Negotiate inbound and outbound freight rates
  7. Identify and actively collaborate in the development of continuous improvement opportunities in inventory management and cost optimization
  8. Place packaging orders and follow up with suppliers
  9. Analyze and process packaging purchase orders in the MRP system
  10. Ensure rapid and efficient management of potential shortage problems
  11. Manage inventory levels based on set objectives and related costs
  12. Participate in the calculation and payment of all input costs
  13. Optimize inter-warehouse transactions in terms of costs and inventory levels
  14. Participate in transaction automation processes
  15. Assume any other responsibility compatible with his/her role, and which is assigned to him/her by his/her immediate superior

To succeed in this role, you will require a minimum two (2) years post-secondary education in a relevant field, and a minimum five (5) years of experience in supply chain, production planning, and inventory management. Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office 365 is an asset. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential for success in this position.
