This role will involve working in a team-based environment, delivering high-quality market analysis and financial reporting, and analyzing commercial mortgage investments to evaluate their quality.

As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with experienced mortgage professionals, develop your skills in finance modeling, and contribute to the success of our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze commercial mortgage investments and evaluate their quality;
  • Deliver high-quality market analysis and financial reporting;
  • Work with mortgage professionals to analyze commercial mortgage investments;
  • Prepare proformas, cash flow models, and project-specific underwriting;
  • Obtain and share market data with the origination group;
  • Maintain a database of market data and share it with the origination group;
  • Review and summarize third-party reports;
  • Organize and manage project-related documentation and information;
  • Assist the Mortgage Origination team in structuring mortgage opportunities;
  • Prepare commitment letters for review by the Mortgage Origination team, Lender, and solicitor;
  • Manage and coordinate the funding process;
  • Ensure all written and electronic documentation meets compliance requirements;
  • Establish relationships with third-party report providers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Major in Finance, Economics, or Math) or MBA;
  • 1 year of experience in the Commercial Real Estate Industry is considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of basic finance modeling, including rates of return, IRR, NPV, and cash flow modeling;
  • Applicable provincial mortgage license is considered an asset or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment;
  • Excellent financial analysis research and underwriting skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Clear understanding of cash flow statements, preparation, and analysis;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Expert level of knowledge in Excel required, including formulas, pivot tables, charting, etc.;
  • Past teamwork and team player focus and experience required;
  • Knowledge of Real Estate or Finance Industry is an asset.
