Job Title: Technical System Analyst

The Technical System Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining the operational excellence of Seaspan Ferries' Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This includes access control and CCTV systems, as well as other hardware and software supporting the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to hardware, applications, and integration errors.
  • Provide end-user support and maintain relationships through incident resolution.
  • Perform administration functions, including security changes and system monitoring.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including firmware installation, service packs, patches, and hot fixes.
  • Configure, deploy, and support IT/OT hardware devices and software.
  • Produce incident reports and troubleshooting knowledge articles.
  • Provide emergency production support, liaising with end-users, other IT teams, and vendors to troubleshoot and provide solutions.
  • Work with users and vendors to clarify and document requirements for simple or out-of-the-box system changes.
  • Participate in the rollout of process improvements and identify opportunities for new improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems, or Systems Engineering, or completion of a Post-secondary Diploma in Computer Science.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in technical support, service desk, troubleshooting, and problem resolution, network administration.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in implementing, supporting, and administering IT/OT systems, such as access control, gate automation, CCTV, or telemetry/data capture.
  • Passion for service excellence and business enablement, as well as the ability to deliver work products that provide measurable business benefit.
  • Understanding of how the business works and the ability to develop business acumen through learning and training.
  • Understanding of troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Technical knowledge of computing devices, servers, operating systems, network protocols and technologies, printers and peripherals, system integrations, and software applications.
  • Basic understanding of SQL.
  • Comfortable working in marine terminal and vessel settings, including adherence to safety protocols.
