Camp Manager

BC Ferries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Camp Manager to join our People Experience team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and managing the provision of People Experience services.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement Employee Relations/Industrial Relations strategies, objectives, and practices
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with client group managers to ensure effective and collaborative practices guiding all employee matters
- Provide advice and guidance to Managers/Supervisors in the interpretation and administration of the Collective Agreement, policies, and practices
- Support the grievance process and reach appropriate grievance resolution with the Union
- Manage pro-active attendance support programs
- Provide guidance and direction to Managers and Supervisors in administering appropriate remedial action
- Conduct fact-finding interviews and prepare appropriate letters of discipline
- Foster and maintain professional working relationships with managers, supervisors, and union representatives
- Work collaboratively with the Recruitment Centre of Excellence to support recruitment requirements within the client group
- Provide support, as needed, to the Work Abilities and Return to Work Advisors in coordinating employee benefit programs, including STIIP, LTD, WCB, and 'return to work' programs, and supporting accommodations
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of job descriptions
- Participate in coordinating the separation of employees and application of appropriate severance arrangements
- Possess a University or College Degree in a related field or equivalent
- 3-4 years of human resources and labor relations experience within a complex organization and at least 2 years at a managerial level or an equivalent combination of education and experience
