Job Title: Painter

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at Decent Painting & Decorating Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and painting surfaces to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted
  • Repair cracks and holes
  • Mix paint to desired colour and texture
  • Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
  • Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
  • Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Estimate costs and materials

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Ability to work outdoors, underground, at heights, and in environments with odours
  • Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, and working in a physically demanding environment
  • Client focus, flexibility, initiative, and attention to detail

Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in various locations, including outdoors and underground. They will be required to work at heights and in environments with odours.

Equipment and Machinery Experience: The Painter will have experience with brush painting, multi-ratio pump spraying, patterned rollers, and roller painting.

Surface Preparation Experience: The Painter will have experience with drywall taping/patching, water/hydroblasting, steam cleaning, and sandblasters.

Coating/Application Specialization: The Painter will have experience with novelty and decorative effects, fibreglassing, multi-color finishes, metallized coatings, powdered coatings, dipping, and paint spraying.

Wall Covering Specialization: The Painter will have experience with wallpaper and fabrics/upholstery.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The Painter will work in a physically demanding environment and will be required to bend, crouch, kneel, and work at heights.

Personal Suitability: The Painter will require client focus, flexibility, initiative, and attention to detail.
