Job Summary

The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operational activities within a designated region, ensuring the highest standard of efficiency and effectiveness. This role will contribute to the overall profitability of the company by maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines, and implementing operational directives set by the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc's health and safety guidelines.
  • Overall accountability for the region's operations, including fleet distribution, service, parts, and adherence to standard process and controls.
  • Indirect responsibility for all facilities within a region, including branches, yards, equipment centers, distribution centers, and equipment and tools located in the facilities.
  • Directly manage operations staff for the region, including the Regional Service Manager and the Regional Parts Coordinator. Indirectly manage the Regional Fleet Coordinator.
  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable and Branch Manager on collection efforts to maintain company-targeted DSO.
  • Assist District Manager in new hire training, onboarding, Airgas University, and all safety aspects of getting new branch associates indoctrinated.
  • Interface with the District Manager in all aspects of day-to-day branch management.
  • Accountable for managing multiple change programs within the region sponsored through corporate operations to drive standardization and efficiency.
  • Oversee regional training programs, including regular branch visits and audits, hands-on training, and coaching to implement multiple change initiatives.
  • Monitor the day-to-day operations, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across all facilities in the region.
  • Effectively coordinate with peers in other regions to implement and maintain corporate initiatives and programs.
  • Ensure all governmental regulatory requirements are met at all branches within the region.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience in a job-related discipline preferred. Related experience will be taken into consideration.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related industry.
  • 5+ years working knowledge as an operational territory manager.
  • 5+ years management experience.

  • Ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups in a business setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Communicates with clarity, verbally in one-on-one or group situations, and over the telephone.
  • Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents.
