Software QA Engineer I New Canada

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Quality Engineer to join our Payments platform team. As a key member of our Agile Scrum environment, you will work closely with Senior QE and developers to create test plans for new functionality and write automated test cases to execute test plans.
Our team supports an annual payment volume of billions globally, and we are just getting started. We are in an industry that is seeing spectacular growth and innovation, and in response, we are re-inventing our payments platform to provide a seamless gaming and purchase experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Work in an Agile Scrum environment to support quality engineering activities in the payments space.
- Collaborate with Senior QE and developers to create test plans for new functionality.
- Write automated test cases to execute test plans.
- Engage with globally distributed teams to provide continuous delivery of high-quality software products that delight Sony customers.
- Own the creation and maintenance of test regression and smoke test suites.
- Act as a quality gate and provide release sign-off.
- BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years' experience as an engineer in test.
- Extensive hands-on technical expertise, including experience with Java.
- Experience with all aspects of software test, including test planning, test automation, load test, failure mode test, etc.
- Experience testing RESTful web services and web applications.
- Experience working with build automation and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, etc.).
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL and database schema designs.
- Experience reviewing logs in Splunk or similar.
- Ability to estimate effort and size of features.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Experience using source control (esp. Git) and bug tracking systems in a team environment.
- Experience with Selenium.
- Experience as a Software Developer.
