Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Global Compliance team at Scotiabank. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of Business Requirements and Data Ingestion initiatives related to Global Compliance and AML.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and development of Business Requirements (User Stories), Data Ingestion, and technology enablement initiatives related to Global Compliance and AML.
  • Support Senior Product Owners in ensuring system development lab's capacity is optimized to deliver system functionality that meets quality and user requirements.
  • Provide Operational Support for specific requests submitted by Global Compliance's Pillar Owners, related to GRC systems.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to perform user acceptance testing and ensure the product delivers as intended.
  • Partner with Change Management team to develop system adoption strategy and continuous enhancement of training materials.
  • Create process lifecycle documentation related to GRC system initiatives.
  • Be actively involved in the preparation, conception, realization, and Go Live of implementation projects.
Requirements
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree, with preferred concentration in technology, Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and relevant financial services or risk qualifications.
  • Experience in a Regulatory Compliance, Audit, or Internal Controls role.
  • Ability to write SQL query statements.
  • Implementation experience with technology solutions (e.g. ECM, OpenPages, Google Cloud, etc.).
  • Proven ability to conduct interviews with the business team to drive out business requirements and document Jira stories.
  • Track progress on projects, deliverables, resources.
  • Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary project groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to develop and implement solutions to complex issues.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing regulatory and business environments.
  • Proficiency with Web-based applications, and strong skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly with respect to data analysis in Excel or more advanced data mining tools.
  • Strong time management, project management, research, and analytical skillsets.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and transforming business requirements into User Stories.
