Job Overview

This role is responsible for building and maintaining tools, dies, and fixtures to support a production schedule at Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain progressive or fine blank dies, jigs, and fixtures at the required quality level to support producing quality components.
  • Fabricate dies, die sections, fixtures, and other required components within a specific time frame.
  • Troubleshoot and repair dies and fixtures in the Tool Room and Press to solve problems within the production schedule constraints.
  • Report all problems that may affect the on-time completion of assigned work.
  • Provide guidance and teaching to apprentices.
  • Maintain safety standards and cleanliness of the work area as outlined by Supervisory staff.
  • Be aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for our customers.

Requirements

  • Completion of specialized trade courses and/or apprenticeship/certification.
  • 1 to less than 3 years of work-related experience.
  • Certified Tool & Die Maker.
  • Valid Crane License preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T.
