About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Utilization Clinician to join our team at Sechelt Hospital. As a key member of our Nursing Administrative team, you will play a critical role in optimizing patient flow and improving healthcare efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to identify and address site-specific barriers to patient flow, developing and implementing solutions to alleviate these challenges.
  • Work in partnership with site leadership to ensure accurate and reliable Alternate Levels of Care (ALC) data, supporting the development and integration of system efficiency innovations throughout the Health Services Delivery Area (HSDA).
  • Provide expert guidance and support to direct care staff on professional practice issues related to interprofessional care planning, problem-solving, and workflow.

Sechelt Hospital is a 46-bed acute care facility serving over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. Our hospital provides a range of services, including Emergency care, Renal program-community dialysis units, Mental Health and Substance Use Services, surgical services, and birthing for low-risk pregnancies.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Four (4) years' recent, related experience in an acute/community care environment.
  • One (1) year's experience in a leadership role, including experience working with patient flow and systems analysis, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
