Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Frankly Coffee and Bistro. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our food service staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Staff

Lead and motivate a team of food service staff to ensure seamless service delivery, efficient operations, and exceptional customer experiences.

Train and Develop Staff

Provide comprehensive training and coaching to staff members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.

Inventory Management

Conduct regular inventory checks, manage stock levels, and ensure accurate ordering to minimize waste and optimize resources.

Quality Control

Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service to meet customer expectations.

Customer Service

Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring prompt resolution and satisfaction.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and staff performance to inform business decisions and optimize operations.

Work Scheduling

Develop and implement efficient work schedules to meet business needs, ensuring adequate staffing and minimizing overtime.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Settlement Support

Assist newcomers and refugees with immediate settlement needs, such as housing, transportation, and storage.

Social and Labour Market Integration

Support newcomers and refugees in accessing community resources, language training, and skills development opportunities.

Support for Indigenous People
  • Mentorship and Coaching

Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities to Indigenous workers to enhance their career development and success.

Cultural Competency Training

Provide cultural competency training and awareness programs to all employees to create a welcoming and inclusive work environment for Indigenous workers.

Requirements
  • Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or hospitality role.

Work Setting

Coffee shop or restaurant environment.

Work Language

English.

Work Hours

30 to 40 hours per week.
