Communications Therapist

At the Eastern Townships School Board, we are seeking a skilled Communications Therapist to join our team. This is a full-time position based at Princess Elizabeth Elementary School in Magog, Quebec.

This role involves working with students who experience or may experience hearing, language, speech, or voice problems. As a Communications Therapist, you will conduct prevention, screening, and evaluation activities, and develop individualized education plans to meet the needs of each student.

• Analyzing and interpreting student data, evaluating their hearing, language, speech, or voice functions.
• Determining and implementing a treatment and intervention plan tailored to each student's needs.
• Participating in the development and implementation of a comprehensive speech therapy service, taking into account academic and administrative requirements.
• Conducting screenings and identifying students experiencing difficulties, using a prevention-focused approach.
• Working with a multidisciplinary team to create and review individualized education plans.

You will also collaborate with teachers, provide advice and support, and inform them about the impact of communication difficulties on students' learning and social adaptation.
