Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Prototyping Engineer to join our team at Svante, a rapidly growing clean energy technology company. In this role, you will work closely with the SAB Technology and Manufacturing teams to develop methods of construction and physically fabricate prototype articles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand specific test article requirements and develop fabrication plans.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and equipment to be applied to builds, working closely with Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Coordinate activities with Engineers for design, procurement, and assembly of required jigs and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and rework/repair non-conforming products to determine root cause.
  • Contribute to the design and build of new test stations and equipment.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Diploma in Industrial Automation, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or Technician; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least years of experience in a prototyping and fabrication role.
  • High attention to detail to achieve specific sample variations called for in validation plans.
  • The ability to refine requirements and designs on the fly.
  • The ability to manufacture parts using hand or machine tools, including lathes, mills, fabrication, and welding equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including restricted share units, extended health and dental plan, retirement savings plan, and access to a fitness centre.
