Government Reconciliation Liaison

We are looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Reconciliation Partner at the Manitoba Government. As a Reconciliation Partner, you will be responsible for fostering relationships with Indigenous Government Bodies and supporting their journey towards self-governance in child and family services.

You will engage with Indigenous Government Bodies to understand their needs and priorities, and develop strategies to support them. You will also collaborate with the Government of Canada and other stakeholders to advance the interests of the Manitoba Government and its partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous peoples and to contribute to the reconciliation efforts of the Manitoba Government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster relationships with Indigenous Government Bodies and support their journey towards self-governance in child and family services.
  • Engage with Indigenous Government Bodies to understand their needs and priorities.
  • Develop strategies to support Indigenous Governments in their journey towards self-governance.
  • Collaborate with the Government of Canada and other stakeholders to advance the interests of the Manitoba Government and its partners.

Requirements:

  • Credentials in areas related to child and family services, education, health, social science, or public administration.
  • Ability to build trust with Indigenous Government Bodies and develop strong relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities.
