We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Building Division. A Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management, including construction project start-up, schedules, and obtaining necessary permits. They will adopt Gateman-Milloy Inc.'s project management policies and systems, prepare project revenue targets and budgets, establish performance standards, and interpret project costing reports for executive management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage ICI construction projects with values in excess of $5M, ensuring projects are completed on budget and on schedule to meet business plan objectives.
  • Coach junior and intermediate-level Project Managers and their support staff with varied backgrounds and experience.
  • Develop project estimates and proposals, add value engineering, and modify the scope of work as necessary to minimize construction costs.
  • Manage site meetings, RFI's, invoices, and control the document process.
  • Report to executive management any concerns or trends with projects that may impact the division's financial performance.
  • Coordinate Site Supervisor, subtrades, materials, and project workforce needs.
  • Manage project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including resource allocation, scheduling, documentation, budgeting, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, and subtrades.

Requirements:

  • A university degree or college diploma in construction or civil engineering technology, or project management is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management in the ICI construction industry is preferred.
  • C.E.T. and/or equivalent combinations of technical training are an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Identify and manage risks.
  • Well-organized and able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent computer proficiency, especially MS Word, Excel, Project.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2007 and Timberline is an asset.
