Job Summary

At Magnum Cementing Services, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the scheduling and completion of maintenance requirements for our fleet, including daily, monthly, and annual inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with company trucks, pumping equipment, and off-road equipment.
  • Ensure all mechanical work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including work orders and maintenance reports.
  • Collaborate with Station Managers, Supervisors, and Dispatch to maintain operational and service standards.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to the Operations division on mechanical issues and maintenance procedures.
  • Escalate outstanding equipment issues and work with management to improve policies and procedures.
  • Participate in our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program.
  • Actively implement continuous improvements and support new designs and innovations.
  • Mentor and train Apprentices Heavy Equipment Technicians to a high standard.
  • Perform field repairs as required.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation schedule.
  • Participate in training and development activities.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a related trade program (Alberta Heavy Equipment Technician, Saskatchewan Truck and Transport Mechanic, or State Automotive or Diesel Technology) with some related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work overtime, accommodate a flexible schedule, and travel to meet business needs.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

  • Self-starter, organized, able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Able to work autonomously and be proactive in addressing issues.
  • Valid class 3 or 1 (Canada) / class A CDL (U.S.) with a clean driving record.
  • Oilfield experience.
