Technical Leadership Opportunity

eDynamic Learning, a leading provider of accessible and equitable resources for educators, is seeking a Technical Team Lead to oversee the software activities of our Engineering Department. This fully remote role requires a commitment to customer excellence and a passion for education.

About the Role

This position involves providing technical leadership and guidance to the development of the team, including making decisions on architecture, design patterns, and technologies to be used. You will work with stakeholders to define the technical architecture and design of product and software solutions, stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development, and evaluate new tools and technologies for adoption.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team
  • Evaluate and improve development processes, tools, and practices to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Work with stakeholders to define technical architecture and design of product and software solutions
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies for adoption
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues and resolve complex problems during development
  • Conduct software release management
  • Mentor junior developers, provide coaching, and guidance on coding techniques
  • Develop software applications
  • Identify potential risks and issues early in the development process and work to mitigate them
  • Proactively address technical debt and maintain a high level of quality and stability
  • Conduct code reviews and quality assurance
  • Promote and enforce best practices within technology ecosystems and champion change
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and expertise
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial software development
  • 10+ years of experience with Node.js
  • Some .Net experience is a plus
  • Deep understanding of HTTP and writing APIs
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with React preferred
  • Experience developing high-traffic systems
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Linux, and bash scripting (preferred)
  • Licensed to work in the US and/or Canada
  • Self-starter who thrives with autonomy
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior developers
