Cloud Software Architect Opportunity

Wind River Systems is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Software Architect to join our team. As a key member of our OpenStack platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-level software architecture solutions for our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software architecture solutions for our OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement feature development.
  • Work closely with Product Line Management, Sales, and customer architects to determine software requirements.
  • Contribute to the open-source community by advancing the StarlingX, OpenStack, and Kubernetes communities.
  • Research and stay up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud technologies, with typically 14+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud computing principles and experience with cloud platforms, particularly OpenStack.
  • Experience with deploying and operating OpenStack services in production.
  • Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Telecom core network protocols and standards (e.g., 4G/5G, IMS, EPC) is a benefit.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and other common infrastructure management languages (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in participating and contributing to open-source projects.
