Job Summary:

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a Health Care Aide Trainee to join our team. As a Health Care Aide Trainee, you will work under the supervision of a Manager, RN, RPN, and/or LPN to provide basic supportive care to residents. You will assist with resident care, provide physical support, and respond to resident needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL) such as walking, bathing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Provide physical support to residents, including transferring and transporting them as needed.
  • Respond promptly to resident calls and ensure call bells are within resident reach.
  • Assist with obtaining, cleaning, and maintaining equipment as directed.
  • Restock supplies as assigned.
  • Report and record resident care provided and changes observed.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Successful completion of an approved 7-day Health Care Support Worker micro-credential course or equivalent.
  • Completed a minimum of 300 paid hours as a UHCA in the preceding 12 months.
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • 18 years or older; Grade 12 (or mature student Grade 10).
  • English speaking (Level 6 IELTS or Level 7 CLB).
  • Applicants must commit to completing an approved HCA Bridging Program.

Working Conditions:
