Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified English and Social Studies teacher to join our team at the junior high level. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies to students in grades 7-9.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve student outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with curriculum and instructional strategies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Valid Ontario teaching certification
  • Experience teaching English Language Arts and Social Studies at the junior high level
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
