Job Summary

Solution SFT is seeking a skilled Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician to join our team. As a key member of our assembly team, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting manufacturing and installation plans, cutting, shaping, assembling, and adjusting sheet and clad metal parts or other structural and assembly shapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read and interpret manufacturing and installation plans, schematic sketches, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation of parts.
  • Perform Assembly and Installation: Assemble, adjust, and install mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic components, as well as structural and assembly shapes.
  • Modify and Repair: Modify, repair, and assemble non-mechanical components for the non-simulated section (back of simulator).
  • Visual System Installation: Install the visual components required for the assembly and installation of the mirror retainer system, install the actual mirror, and perform visual system measurements and adjustments.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience and a Professional Study Diploma in Aircraft Sheet Metal or Aircraft Structural Assembly.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with concepts related to the properties of materials used, precision standards, and occupational health and safety standards, especially WHMIS.
  • Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using measuring instruments, assembly tools, and cutting and shaping machine tools, including band saws, manual and hydraulic shears, and profiling benders.
Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on their seniority, willingness to perform the work, and ability to meet the requirements of the posting. Functional knowledge of French is required.
